Finessa Batch Check: Lot Number and Certificate of Analysis

Quick answer

A Finessa batch is one production run of the powder, tracked by a lot number printed on the tub. The label images we were given show no lot number. The seller lists FIN-26/GO-1317 and a CoA reference, FIN-1317-26-GO, but no lab report is published. Ask the order desk for the certificate of analysis that matches your tub.

The basics01

What is a Finessa batch and lot number?

A Finessa batch is the group of tubs made in one production run. A lot number is the short code that names that run.

If a problem turns up, the code lets a maker find which tubs share the same ingredients, the same date and the same test results. Without it, nobody can tell your tub from any other.

Finessa is a powder dietary supplement, not a drug. The FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold (FDA 101: Dietary Supplements). That puts more weight on the paperwork a seller can show, and a lot number is where that paperwork starts.

The label images we were given show only the tub front and the Supplement Facts panel. Neither shows a lot code, an expiry date or a maker. So we cannot read a lot number for you from our pictures. Your own tub is the source.

The Finessa Supplement Facts panel; no lot code or expiry date is visible in it
The panel we were given. It lists servings and blends, and it shows no lot number.

See every printed line on the Supplement Facts page.

On your tub02

Where do you find the lot number on a Finessa tub?

Look on the tub itself: the bottom, the label edge or the neck seal. Most supplement tubs print a lot code and a best-by date in one of those places.

We cannot confirm where Finessa prints it, because our pictures do not show. Treat these spots as the usual places, not a promise.

  1. Turn the tub over

Check the base for a stamped or inked line of letters and numbers.

  2. Check the label edge and lid

Look for a small line near the barcode, the seam or under the lid.

  3. Photograph it

Take a clear picture of the code and the best-by date before you mix the first scoop.

  4. Keep the order ID with it

Save the order ID and the date it arrived next to the photo.

If you find no code at all, say so when you call. That is useful information for the order desk, and for you if you decide to use the guarantee.

Seller references03

What do the seller's lot and CoA references mean?

They are reference codes the seller gave us. They are not lab proof, and we cannot match them to a report.

The codes are FIN-26/GO-1317 for the lot and FIN-1317-26-GO for the certificate of analysis. We show them so you can quote them to the order desk. We have not seen the document they point to, and no lab report is published on this site.

The document04

What is a certificate of analysis, and what should it show?

A certificate of analysis (CoA) is a lab report for one lot. It lists what was tested, the method and the result.

A useful CoA names the lot, the lab and the test date. It states results against a limit, such as heavy metals or microbes that should be absent. For a probiotic powder it should also give live cell counts.

That last point matters here. A label weight in milligrams says nothing about live cells, and the count printed at the time of manufacture can differ from the count at the end of shelf life (NIH ODS, Probiotics fact sheet (CFU, label)). The tub front says 3 Billion CFU. The panel says 5 Billion CFU at the time of manufacture. A CoA is the place to see which number holds.

Lot and dates

The lot code must match your tub. Look for the test date and the best-by date.

Who tested it

A named lab with contact details, ideally one separate from the seller.

What was measured

Identity of the herbs, microbes, heavy metals and, for probiotics, viable CFU.

What to ask05

What should you ask the Finessa order desk for?

Call the BuyGoods order desk at +1 (302) 200-3480 with your order ID and ask for the certificate of analysis for your lot. Tracking and refunds for placed orders go through that line too.

There is no separate order email. The website inbox, [email protected], cannot see orders. Use it for page questions only.

  • The certificate of analysis for the lot printed on my tub.
  • The lab name and the date of the test.
  • Viable CFU at the end of shelf life, not only at manufacture.
  • The maker and the distributor named on the product.
  • Which serving count is right: 50 scoops on the panel, or 30 days on the sales page.

Write down the date, the name of the person and what they promise. If you get a document, check that the lot code on it matches your tub, letter for letter.

No answer is an answer too

If the desk cannot produce a CoA, you still have the guarantee. The sales page offers 180 days, and you can read how to claim it on the contact page.

Why it matters06

Which Finessa label numbers should a CoA settle?

Three. The weights, the CFU and the serving count do not agree with each other, and a lab report is the cleanest way to see which is right.

2,259.5mg of blend lines a scoop
1.92g a scoop from 96 g over 50 servings
3 vs 5billion CFU, tub front vs panel

A scoop cannot hold more than it weighs. We do not know which number is off, and we do not say anyone did anything wrong. Ask for the CoA, and trust the tub you receive.

The limits07

Does a matching lot number prove Finessa is safe?

No. A lot number only identifies a run, and a CoA only reports what the lab chose to test.

A clean report does not show that a supplement works. It does not remove the cautions that come with its ingredients either. Finessa lists cascara sagrada, a stimulant-laxative herb, and long use can lower potassium and sodium (MSK, Cascara (About Herbs)). No batch paperwork changes that.

Herbal products are a known source of liver injury reports, and blends make the cause hard to trace (LiverTox, Herbal and dietary supplements overview). If you take prescribed medicine, keep taking it and tell your care team about any supplement (FDA, Mixing medications and supplements).

If you have a reaction, stop the powder and get care. You can report it to the FDA through its Safety Reporting Portal (FDA, How to Report a Problem with Dietary Supplements). Include the lot code and a photo of the tub. Read about Finessa side effects and when to call a doctor.

FAQ08

Finessa batch and lot questions

Where is the lot number on a Finessa tub?

We cannot say for sure, because the label images we were given show only the tub front and the Supplement Facts panel. Check the base, the label edge and the lid or seal. If you find none, tell the order desk.

What is the Finessa lot number FIN-26/GO-1317?

It is a seller reference code. It is not lab proof, and we have not seen a test report tied to it. Quote it when you call the order desk, and compare it with the code on your own tub.

Does Finessa have a certificate of analysis?

The seller lists a CoA reference, FIN-1317-26-GO, but no lab report is published. We have not seen the document. Ask the order desk for the certificate that matches your tub's lot code.

How do I ask for a Finessa CoA?

Call the BuyGoods order desk at +1 (302) 200-3480 with your order ID. Ask for the certificate of analysis for your lot, the lab name and the test date. The website inbox cannot see orders.

Can a lot number show if my Finessa is fresh?

Only with a best-by date or a manufacture date next to it. For live bacteria, freshness matters, because counts can fall over shelf life. Ask for CFU at the end of shelf life.

Is a CoA proof that a supplement is safe?

No. A CoA reports the tests a lab ran on one lot. It cannot show that the product works, and it does not remove ingredient cautions such as those for cascara sagrada.

Does the lot number tell me who makes Finessa?

No. The label images we were given name no maker or distributor, so we cannot say who makes it. Gofinessa is a U.S. stocking partner, not the manufacturer. Ask the order desk.
