Acai Berry Extract Supplement: What a Label Line Can and Cannot Tell You
An acai berry extract supplement is a concentrated powder made from the acai fruit. In Finessa it is the ninth and last line of the 1,000 mg polyphenol blend, so by our label arithmetic it weighs at most 111 mg a scoop. The label gives no exact amount and no trial tested it.

The ingredient01
What is an acai berry extract supplement?
An acai berry extract supplement is a powder made by concentrating the fruit of the acai palm into a dry extract.
Finessa lists "acai berry extract" at the end of its Polyphenol Blend. The panel prints one weight for the whole blend, 1,000 mg, and names nine lines under it. It does not print what each line weighs.
Blend rules allow that: parts go in order of weight, and only the blend total shows (21 CFR 101.36 (proprietary blends)).
Label math02
How much acai is in a Finessa scoop?
No more than 111 mg, by our arithmetic from the label order. That is a ceiling, not a measured amount.
The nine lines are listed from most to least. If the ninth line were any heavier than 111 mg, the lines above it would have to weigh more too, and the total would pass 1,000 mg. Acai could weigh far less than the ceiling.
| Line | Position | Weighs at most |
|---|---|---|
| Beet root powder | 1 of 9 | 1,000 mg |
| Cranberry | 6 of 9 | 167 mg |
| Acai berry extract | 9 of 9 | 111 mg |

Evidence03
Does research show acai extract helps digestion?
Not that we can verify. Our source set holds no acai trial, and no study has tested Finessa.
The closest evidence is about berries in general. A review of human trials of berry polyphenols found only three qualifying randomized trials, and berries eaten for 8 to 12 weeks had no significant effect on gut microbiota (Sweeney 2022, berry polyphenols and gut microbiota (RCT review)). That says little about one extract at a small dose.
- Tub front“Digestive Health Support”A vague structure claim with no unit. No trial of this powder is published; fiber and some probiotic strains have evidence on their own. (21 CFR 101.93 (structure/function)) (NIDDK, Constipation treatment)
- Tub front“Prebiotics, Probiotics & Liver Cleansing Formula”The liver clears waste by itself; no supplement is proven to 'cleanse' it. The prebiotic and probiotic parts are real ingredients with no amounts for single lines. (NCCIH, Detoxes and cleanses) (21 CFR 101.36 (proprietary blends))
- Sales headline“the only formula to target the critical gut-liver axis”The gut-liver axis is a real research topic, but no comparison with other products is shown, so 'only' cannot be checked. (Albillos 2020, gut-liver axis review (J Hepatol)) (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance)
- Safety claim“no known side effects”Cascara can cause cramps and diarrhea, and probiotics, fiber and several herbs have documented effects. The FDA has pulled cascara from over-the-counter laxatives. (MSK, Cascara (About Herbs)) (FDA 2002 final rule, cascara sagrada and aloe (Federal Register)) (FDA, Mixing medications and supplements)
- Metabolism claim“Boost your metabolism for faster digestion”No trial of the product is shown. Stimulant laxatives speed stool, but that is not a faster metabolism. (NIDDK, Constipation symptoms and causes) (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance)
- Energy and focus“Experience increased energy levels” and “Feel sharper and more focused”Vague, untested for this product. Better sleep, meals and fiber matter more. (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance)
- Skin claim“Enjoy smoother, more radiant skin”No trial of the product is shown. Skin claims for gut products rest on small, early studies. (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance)
Claims as printed on the tub and the sales page (Finessa sales page). Health claims need competent and reliable scientific evidence (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance).

Is a fruit extract automatically safe?
No. "Natural" is not a safety label, and risk rises at high doses or when many products are combined (NIH ODS, Dietary Supplements: What You Need To Know).
The bigger questions on this tub are other lines, such as cascara sagrada, a stimulant-laxative herb. Read the side-effects guide first. Keep taking prescribed medicine.
Decide05
Should acai decide whether you buy Finessa?
No. A last-place line of at most 111 mg is not a reason to buy, or to skip, the tub.
Weigh the whole panel instead. The ingredients guide covers each line.

FAQ06
Questions about acai on the label
Is acai the main ingredient in Finessa?
No. Acai berry extract is the ninth of nine lines in the Polyphenol Blend, and the blend is only one of four. By label order, it is the lightest line in that blend, at most 111 mg.
Why does the label list the Latin name Raphanus sativus?
The panel prints Raphanus sativus beside purple carrot, which is the Latin name of radish. We cannot say why. Ask the seller to confirm what plant is in the tub before you rely on the line.
Can acai extract replace fiber?
No. The panel shows 3 g of total carbohydrate a scoop and no stated fiber amount. NIDDK suggests 22 to 34 g of fiber a day from food first (NIDDK, Constipation treatment). A fruit extract is not a substitute.
Is acai a good reason to try a gut powder?
Not on its own. The evidence we hold on berry polyphenols and gut microbes is thin (Sweeney 2022, berry polyphenols and gut microbiota (RCT review)), and the amount on the label is small. Judge the full formula and talk to a doctor if symptoms continue.
