Because it is the one ingredient with a strong, known effect on the bowel. Cascara is a stimulant-laxative herb (MSK, Cascara (About Herbs)).

It sits third in the 755 mg Gut Health blend, so its ceiling is about 251 mg a scoop. That is our arithmetic from the label order, not a lab test. In 2002 FDA ruled that cascara in over-the-counter laxative drugs is not generally recognized as safe and effective (FDA 2002 final rule, cascara sagrada and aloe (Federal Register)). Which Finessa ingredient is the strongest?

Cascara sagrada, because it is a stimulant-laxative herb with a documented bowel effect (MSK, Cascara (About Herbs)). The others, such as milk thistle and probiotics, have weaker or strain-specific evidence.

Does Finessa list how much cascara it holds?

No. The Gut Health blend prints only a 755 mg total. Because cascara is third of five lines, it can weigh at most about 251 mg. That is a ceiling from our arithmetic.

Is the Akkermansia in Finessa proven?
